Spring Is Finally Here!!!

Happy Saturday! Spring seems to finally be here and the Mardis family could not be more happy! After weeks of nonstop rain, a flooded basement and yard, and allergies galore, we are happy to finally celebrate the arrival of warmer weather! Most of last week was sunny and pleasant with temperatures in the 70's! It was a little cooler today and sprinkled off-and-on but overall still fairly pleasant. As you can see, Kate is enjoying the extra time outside in the afternoons after school. She spends most of the time playing basketball in the driveway or chasing after the dogs. We have been able to walk more, with most walks now ending in a good solid bribe to stay seated and we will visit the park on our way home! The faithful parenting technique of bribing always seems to work!

Since Kate really seems to enjoy the playground at the local Elementary school we thought it would be good to visit John Riley this morning to play on his new swingset! John Riley and Kate are becoming the best of friends and played up a storm this morning. As usual, the visit ended with tears from both parties as if they would never see each other again...and of course...it was just before naptime! Kate said all afternoon, "swing with John Riley" so needless to say, we will be over again soon to play. For some reason she did not enjoy swinging but definitely enjoyed climbing up and down the ladder to the slide!

The last picture of the slideshow is from this afternoon where Kate was first introduced to my Cabbage Patch Kids from my childhood. They are all naked after their own baths and will be clothed in their original (and now clean) clothes! Kate really seems to like dolls so hopefully she will enjoy the "Kids" as much as I did! By the end of the week I am sure they will all have names so I will keep you posted!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I look forward to talking to you soon!

Great pictures showing the fun of spring and good friends!

I will see you on Friday evening and will be prepared for the "doll parade"--Kate being the leader of the pack for Nana, of course.

Have a great week--hope you're all set for the big race!
