Happy Birthday Tripp

Well, another weekend and another birthday party. This time however, I got confused on the time and missed the whole party! I didn't realize my week had been quite so busy until Saturday afternoon when we showed up at Tripp's birthday party at 4:30 and it was from 1-4. I guess when you are consumed with your own life you forget the simple things like verifying the time of a party! We apologize to Tripp dearly even though he will never know! The good part is that we got a great visit in with Kara, Jo, my mom and Bob. I guess it all works out for a reason. Kate had a big time playing with all Tripp's toys even though we didn't get to see much of him. From the looks of it, Tripp had a great time. Kara put on one heck of a show! We look forward to seeing them next weekend at Kate's party!

After the party, we drove to my mom's for a visit at the lake. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and Kate enjoyed throwing the rocks into the water! She looked so pretty in the sunset so I attached several (many) pictures of her in her bathing suit cover up!

I hope you enjoy. Life here is a little hectic so bear with me if I am a little delayed on postings. I am going to still try and post once a week but this new position has been very demanding so far! Hopefully I can keep up!

Take care and I look forward to posting some pictures next weekend of Kate's 2nd birthday party!

Happy Father's Day Dad and Ryan

What a wonderful weekend! I apologize for no additional pictures or videos of Kate but today was so busy I forgot to take pictures! We started the day off right with a surprise for Ryan in which Kate gave him a ticket to one of the practice round days at the 2008 Ryder's Cup here in Louisville! He seemed pretty excited so Kate and I are very pleased the surprise turned out as it did! We then visited a little diner for a delicious breakfast and then back to the house for additional yard work! My dad came up for several hours to watch the golf and enjoy a yummy cookout! It was great to see all my favorite dad's and spend time visiting and watching an incredible round of golf! Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there!

9 years and counting...

I hope this posting finds everyone doing well! Things are great here as I am now fully recovered from my girls trip last weekend! Last Thursday, 8 of us took off from various cities and ended up in Miami for 4 days of fun in the sun celebrating the upcoming wedding of our dear friend April! These all-girl weekend trips started almost 9 years ago when many of us visited Key West for the 1st of many trips, often times in celebration of one of our weddings. We have visited Key West several times as well as Virginia Beach, Las Vegas, Nashville, Chicago, and now...Miami! Every year there seems to be a slightly different crew as our lives keep us busy but we all there in thought if not in person. Despite some terrible travel to and from Miami, we had a great time catching up and soaking up the warm sun! It was a wonderful break from the real world but I am so glad to be back with my wonderful family!

Speaking of family...we have had a great Father's Day weekend here in Louisville. Even though today primarily consisted of yard work, we did fit in a picnic and several hours (at least it seemed like it) of bubbles! I will keep you posted on how the rest of our weekend goes and promise to attach some recent pictures of Kate! She is now able to clearly sing her ABC's so hopefully I will catch that on video! My dad is planning on driving up tomorrow for dinner to help round out a great Father's Day weekend!

Take care and hope to see you all soon!

Happy 32nd...uugghh

I didn't have my camera with me for the most of the weekend so I apologize for only having a handful of pictures. Even though there was no camera, we did have a great weekend celebrating my birthday! On Saturday, Ryan and I started the day with a wonderful visit with our dear friends Molly and Doug Bates from Centerville, TN. They were in the area for a family wedding and were nice enough to include a little visit to our house to catch up on all the news with out respective families. After a few tosses of the football, Kate and Doug were the best of friends. Leave it to the Ellis side of the family to bond over a little sports!

After our visit with The Bates', we all drove to Lexington to visit with Ryan's dad and wife, Opal Ann. Since 3 of our birthdays fall between May 31 and June 14, we celebrated in style with a wonderful dinner at Malone's. Our friends Sarah, Stephan and Sam were nice enough to watch Kate for the night. It is hard to believe Sam is going to be 3 this September. I wish I would have captured a few pictures of Sam because he is cute beyond words! I guess this just means another visit must be in store so we can get some pictures!

On Sunday, my Dad came up for a birthday visit and we ended cooking out at our house with The Wiggins's! The pictures are of Luke and Maddux, who like all the other kids are growing up too fast! We feasted on delicious guacamole (thanks Alyson) and pork tenderloin and a few salads! And since we all love ice cream in the Mardis family, we introduced my Dad to Bruester's ice cream and each enjoyed a cone full of ice cream, including Kate! I hope you enjoy the pictures from today. It was such a wonderful celebration to my 32nd birthday!

I am also including a few pictures that Michele just sent me from our pool excursion from last Monday! The pool water was FREEZING so most of the time was spent on the ledge as you can see from the pictures!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week. I am very much looking forward to a few days off at the end of this week that will be consumed with girl time with a trip to Miami with 7 girlfriends! Lets hope we stay out of trouble...
