Jessica's Baby Shower

I hate that I don't have pictures but we were not able to get a new camera by this weekend. Therefore, I am waiting until everyone gets theirs online so I can steal them :)

This weekend was wonderful. The whole gang ventured down to Nashville to celebrate the upcoming delivery of Baby Girl Cietek! I cannot express in words how wonderful it was to not only catch up with my best girlfriends, but for all of our kids and husbands to get together too. Kelly and Jessica were wonderful hostesses and very patient with all the chaos that comes with 7 families being together.

We stayed at Jessica's along with The Clements Family and Kate has not stopped asking about Sam since the moment we left. We arrived late Friday night and spent a couple of hours catching up on all that has happened, which primary consists of the 2 new babies on the way (Jessica is due with her first in early August and Stephan is due with her second in early November). We then woke up to a yummy breakfast prepared by the best chef I know (Jess) and headed to the pool with the whole gang (14 adults and 8 kiddos). I am so proud of how well Kate took to the water. If fact, she would not get out of the water and didn't care much for the baby pool. Instead, she jumped off the side of the big pool 50+ times and even dunked her head underwater several times. We tried swimmies for the 1st time and she did great with them. We are quite relieved considering she will have her own pool in just a few weeks!

The weather was perfect and the company even better! Thank you again to Jessica and Kelly for hosting all the families. We all can't wait to meet you little Miss Harper!!!

I will post the pictures as soon as I get them. I will also keep everyone who actual reads this posted about the pending move. We hope to hear something early this week and close within 2 weeks!!!! yea!!

Happy Memorial Day

What a weekend! We headed up to Hamilton, IN to hang out at the lake for the weekend with our friends Jon & April! There were about 17 of us there including Jon's parents (Doc and Fritzi), April's parents (Tom and Joyce), Jon's sister Baylee and her friend, Jon's grandparents, The Bushee family, and many other local lake friends! Needless to say, we had a blast. The weather was perfect and the hospitality was even better! A big thank you goes out to the Nodine's for making us feel so welcome. Kate really enjoyed hanging out with the Bushee's kids - Payton (almost 4) and Alex (20 months). The only trouble is that our camera broke on Sunday.

It is time to pack. Hopefully in the next 2 weeks or so we will hear about our closing date! I will keep you posted and I am sure I will post lots of pictures from the move...if I get another camera for my birthday.

Enjoy the pictures.

A few more pics of the new house

Here are some pictures of the outside of the new place. We met our agent there this afternoon to sign a few forms and to get a better idea of how to pack things. It looks like we will start packing this week so we are ready to go as soon as the VA says so. Kate picked her room but I am sure it will change 100+ times between now and the time we move in!

Camping with The Ellis Family

During the trip to my mom's last Sunday, we decided to take the girls camping for Sawyer's early birthday celebration. It was our first trip camping with Kate but the Ellis girls are pros! We camped out at Chimney Rock on Lake Herrington, which was the perfect spot as it included a short walk to let the dogs swin in the lake!

We had a blast and enjoyed the company of Judd & Jen. The food was great, especially Judd's breakfast this morning. We will be doing this more often. Kate stayed up til 11:00, which if you know her, is REALLY late! Only a few tears were shed at the end of the night! Otherwise...great trip!

Happy Belated Mother's Day

Happy 'belated' Mother's Day to all the wonderful mom's I know! We had a wonderful Sunday, waking up early for a visit to our favorite bagel shop and then our daily drive out to our new house! We can't get enough of it! We then ventured down to my mom's for dinner. Kate enjoyed her time with Sue Sue & Pee Paw and of course, Sawyer and Cameron! We took a nature walk, which the girls loved until they got a little tired!

I hope all the great mom's (and mom's to be) I know enjoyed their special day, especially my sweet mom and mother-in-law!

Our new house

Where does time go? Less than 2 weeks ago I was writing that our first showing on our house was at 1:30 on Sunday, May 3rd and tonight I am posting pictures of our new house. We are VERY thankful that this process was so easy! 3 days after we listed our house with our ReMax agent we accepted an offer that was better than we expected. The inspection went well for this house so now it is only a matter of deciding on the closing date.

In the meantime, we searched with our agent for a new house and came upon the one in the pictures. It was love at first sight. The inspection on our new house was this morning and everything checked out perfectly. The expecting closing date is sometime within the next 30 days! So as long as all goes as planned...Kate's 3rd birthday party will be a pool party!

Ryan is on his way over there right now to try and get a few pictures of the outside at night. I will add those as soon as I get them. There are a ton of pictures in the attachment. The decorating is not our style but that will slowly be changed!

Enjoy!

Derby Day at the Zoo

Our 3rd Annual trip to the zoo with the girls was a hit! Aunt Granny, Uncle Pal, Judd, Jennifer, Sawyer, and Cameron all made the trip up to Louisville to visit us yesterday and we had a blast! We started off with an attempt at the science museum since the weather was a little iffy but it was closed due to the Derby celebrations. Therefore, we decided to fight the weather and make the trip to the zoo. I am so glad we did because the weather ended up being perfect...a little overcast and cool temps in the low 60's. Great for walking around most of the day.

We topped off the afternoon with some ice cream from Graters! Thank you to the Ellis/Darnell family for making the trip up! We loved having you here and look forward to the event next year.

After the zoo, Kate and I came home and she slept for about an hour and then we headed to the Wiggins' house to watch the Derby! Kate was the #2 horse at school so she was pleasently surprised that it placed. She immediately stuffed her 'winnings' in her piggy bank when we got home. Needless to say it was a long day but so much fun.

We have our 1st official showing of our house today at 1:30! We will keep you posted.
